"And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should..."
-max ehrmann
Today is one of those days. Where I need to read someone else's words to make me feel better. Where quotes offer reassurance in a way that my own attempt at convincing can't. Where I have so many things going through my mind and I can't seem to harness even one. So rather than try to fix it one by one, sort each one through until it either doesn't exist anymore, or has figured itself out, I just try and let it all go. Chalk it up to the universe and something larger and fate and meant to be. To this is better than that. If it's possible, I'm not sure. I don't know how good I am at it. But it's out there, and it is what it is. And maybe it will work.
What do you do when you're having a bad—or just weird—day, week?
When I'm having a rough time, I do something that takes me out of my comfort zone. Something new to focus on. If that isn't possible, I'll watch a movie that I can get lost in.
ReplyDeleteYoga! Think bout it - are we ever present and in the moment for a full hour and a half? I never am unless I'm in a yoga studio - it puts the concepts of 'the present', 'energy', and 'grounded-ness' into perspective. I try to then take those reminders with me into the evening and into the next day - until I find myself back there again. Try it out and I bet you'll love it. and smile, I'll give you a big hug tomorrow over an amazing meal that will hopefully help turn this week around :) Without the bad days, we wouldn't really appreciate the great ones!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wish I would actually follow my own advice ;)
Music almost always reigns me in at the end of it. Some albums I may put away for months or years; but they always come back in focus at some point or another. Orbital and Pan sonic are my main go-to's, which are rather opposite ends of the electronic music spectrum, though they both work pretty well, for me.
ReplyDeletedrink jk ;) but honestly i always tell myself that this too will pass (whatever it may be) and everything will work out (as it always does), listen to music and go for a walk and when i get back to the task at hand i feel re-energized and ready to start again.
