About me
Hi there, I’m Marisa. Thanks for stopping by.
I’m an editor and a writer and I spend my days going over copy in a colorful office in Manhattan.
My husband John and I just bought our first house this summer. There are no outlets in the bathrooms, the wallpaper in the kitchen is three-layers thick, and the shades in the bedroom are straight from 1963. But we found two old typewriters in the basement and I like to think that’s fate. We kind of love it here.

I’ve been blogging on and off since 2001 and I use this space primarily to record the things happening in my life, to make a mental and physical memory of them.
About the blog name
I spent most of my summers growing up in southern Italy, hanging out in two small towns with my grandparents, surrounded by cousins and friends and a culture I simultaneously knew and didn't know. It changed everything.
So this is a nod to that. To staying inspired, to being open, to taking it all in.
